It’s spring in Yorkshire. Johnny Saxby works hard at the family farm, where he lives with his grandmother and feeble father. There is no joy in his life and he seeks alleviation for his loneliness and harsh farm life in regular night binges in local pubs and casual sex. When a handsome season worker from Romania comes to the farm, powerful attraction develops between them. The unexpected relationship changes Johnny’s life completely in a painful, yet liberating way. This thrilling gay romance set on the heaths of rural England won the Directing Award: World Cinema Dramatic at Sundance. It also won the Männer Readers’ Jury Award at Berlinale.
