Once a respected architect, he is no longer admired in his profession, and his marriage is also on a downhill slope. One day on the street, he spots an old elephant and soon realizes it is Pop Eye, his childhood friend. In the poor animal he recognizes his soulmate and decides to take him on a trip through rural Thailand, back to the village Lei and the farm they grew up on together.
